"An 11-year-old girl who threw a stone at a group of boys pelting her with water balloons is being prosecuted on serious assault charges in California.
Maribel Cuevas was arrested in April in a police operation which involved three police cars and a helicopter.
She has since spent five days in detention, in which she was granted one 30 minute visit by her parents, and has spent a month under house arrest." - BBC News
GUYS THE WORLD IS GOING INSANE.
Or the States anyway.
She should have been punished for throwing a rock, even if the victim provoked it.
As in, she should have detention or be grounded. Not ARRESTED. ?! As if an 11 year old could possibly understand that! Especially one who barely speaks english, and was only read her rights in english.
Poor little girl!

I seriously hope that people realize this little girl is being mistreated and there is a human rights case or something of that nature.

In 1996, in the little town of Sudbury, Ontario, Canada... a boy of 14 was on his way home from school when a little girl age 13 started throwing stones at him. The boy picked up a few stones and through them at the ground in front her, one of the stones skipped, hit her in the mouth, and chipped her tooth. The girl's parents had the little boy arrested for assaulted (he served 14 days in juvenile hall pre-trial) was found guilty and then had to complete 51 hours of community service.
